The EFSTH is the largest and oldest hospital in The Gambia built in the 18th Century. Nafanta Foundation CHEEPP Charity UK learnt about how the hospital staff have been struggling with the limited resources at their disposal.
The Charity felt compelled to act after receiving news about the lack of blood bags to help patients in the hospital. There were shortages of other vital hospital materials which are necessary for the 21 century hospitals to be able to treat some of the world’s worst diseases and other ailments.
Nafanta Foundation Charity has therefore donated large quantity of medical equipment to EFSTH such as beds, mattresses, bedside cabinets, gloves, face masks, etc.
The Charity was able to fully equip the entire Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to provide patients with the best care they deserve as well as enabling the hospital to deal with a much wider range of health care issues in the country.
